Organically grown food carry by different standards like NOP (National Organic Program) for USA and NPOP (National Program for Organic Production) in India. In USA, the NOP standards are being regulated by USDA which work in close coordination with FDA (Govt of America). USDA Organic food program standards covered in NOP standards are almost same covered in NPOP Indian standards, some exceptions like time duration of conversion are different.

Any certified food product export from India to USA under USDA norms are mandatory to first certify under NPOP standards. Indian standards are in equivalency with USDA Organic NOP standards. USDA Organic Program is widely accredited across the world. Most of the activities under USDA Organic program are online hence the traceability is more credible. India is one of the largest organic food exporter to USA under USDA Organic Certification standards.
